In one week's time, we had deer walk through our yard 5 different days. It was so much fun to see them.

We spotted each of these in Upper Canyon by the cabins
When my 6 yr old daughter, my dog, and I went for an early
morning walk one day, we looked up and saw this bear just feet
from us, staring right at us. We backed up slowly, and walked
home very quickly. We went back in the car immediately to get
this shot of it. Face to face with a bear is a little scary.

These two bears were spotted behind the high school. The larger
one is around 400 pounds! It was fun to see the larger bear go to a
tree, stand up, and scratch his back against it.

Visiting some of the local stores and restaurants
One of my daughters favorite spots to goto is the Misty
Mountain Gourmet Shop. They have unique snacks, teas,
ceramic tea sets, gifts, all kinds of things. She calls it "the
cracker store" because they give samples of crackers and
dips throughout the shop. Here she is showing off her
unique "finds" this trip.

Bonito Lake
As you can plainly see from these pictures, Ruidoso is gorgeous. It's lush, cool year
around, smells like Pine, and is utterly relaxing. No matter where you go, it's beautiful
and picture worthy.
