People who haven't been to Ruidoso assume that it's desert, cactus, flat, and

Meet "Sprucewood"
Sprucewood is our cabin which sits surrounded by thickly wooded Pines, in the favored "Upper
Canyon" neighborhood area of Ruidoso. From our deck, we look at mountains, endless Pine
trees, and enjoy temps from the low 80's and below in the summer, and cold at night
year-round. Here are several shots of our cabin, from different angles, and in Summer and
Fall/Winter.

This is our family cabin, built in 1940 (65 years old), with an exterior of split log and stone. We
affectionately named it "Sprucewood" after my late father's cabin in Lake Placid, NY. He started the
tradition of the family vacation cabin in the woods, and it's a tradition we chose to adopt for our
children, family, friends, and memories, and to honor his memory.

Our family goes to Ruidoso several times a year, from San Antonio, and has for many years. Because we
come for a week at a time, and cook many meals while we're here, we've completely stocked the kitchen
with every cooking and baking need you can think of, including brand new crockpots, assorted pots,
pans, and skillets. We have a blender, a mixer, and every single cooking and serving utencil you can
think of...even an ice cream scoop!
Loaded with all new appliances, including washer and dryer, and a new "spin-a-fire" fireplace (glass 360
degrees around), it has all the conveniences of home, for long stays. We also have a brand new hot tub
on the complete privacy of our upper deck, under the Pine trees and stars, and no neighbors' eyes.
We're situated about 20 minutes from the ski slopes, and 15 or less from the Casinos and racetrack.
We're only 3 minutes from the main street with all its' restaurants and shops, and grocery store.
